Corso intensivo di chirurgia implantare, zigomatica e pterigoidea. Cadaver Lab e Chirurgia Live su Paziente
Abstract
The course, which consists of two sessions of two days each, focuses on implant, zygomatic, and pterygoid surgery. It combines theoretical training, hands-on practice on anatomical specimens, diagnostic and implant-prosthetic planning for complex cases, and a patient procedure performed by the course participant as the lead surgeon. The first session, which includes theoretical and hands-on sessions with practical exercises in the dissection lab, is designed to deepen participants’ understanding of anatomy, key surgical techniques, and the criteria to consider in advanced implant, zygomatic, and pterygoid surgery. The second session focuses on building clinical experience. On the first day, participants will directly evaluate patients who are candidates for implant-based rehabilitation, actively participating in the collection of diagnostic data, the formulation of the diagnosis, and the planning of the pre- and post-operative treatment plan. The second day will be primarily dedicated to live patient surgery, during which, under the supervision of the instructor, participants will serve as the primary surgeon in a surgical case, placing traditional or pterygoid implants as well as zygomatic implants. The final discussion will explore rehabilitation options, the management of complications, and long-term maintenance strategies. The goal of the course is to provide a comprehensive overview of the implant and zygomatic treatment pathway, from diagnosis to prosthetic rehabilitation, with skills that can be immediately applied in daily clinical practice.
